Andy How

Lead Elder

Andy taught in West Berkshire schools from 1975 to 2012. He was involved with the birth of Glendale Church in the 1980s. In addition to his work with the Church, Andy is a trustee of Ufton Court Educational Trust and a governor of West Berkshire’s Pupil Referral Unit. He is currently studying theology part-time at Wycliffe Hall, Oxford University.

Ste Bate

Senior Leader

Ste grew up in Cheshire and completed his degree in Ministry in Canada before moving to Newbury in 2004 with a strong sense of calling to the town. He has worked in local authority, as well as getting involved in teaching at Christian leaders conferences and helping with development work in Uganda and India. Ste now works full time at Glendale overseeing the day-to-day operation of the Church. For relaxation, Ste loves a good movie, a hike, eating good food with friends, or swimming in the warm sea!

Mark Dunnett

Leadership Team

Mark came to Glendale Church in 2005 with his wife Sarah and two young sons. He was attracted to the lively worship and strong childrens’ work. “It is a place where God’s love is evident” he says. A busy working life in the semiconductor industry is combined with practical work in the church, for example on the Sound Desk, leading services and supporting events. For relaxation, Mark is a slow runner, and enjoys spending time with his family.

Rachael Joyce

Leadership Team

Alongside her degree in Youth and Community Work and Applied Theology, Rachael was a Youth Worker for a Cambridgeshire Church. Since moving to Newbury and joining Glendale, Rachael has contributed to COINS (Christian Outreach in Newbury Schools) and worked as Assistant Manager in the Christian bookshop, Shoemakers. Rachael has three children and is now a stay-at-home Mum.
